spooks and spooky maps...

OK, so now that midterms are almost behind us on with the Mapping pre-critique! (bring your journal to class for your midterm review meeting with me if you haven't had one yet...)  Hopefully you've all met with your Mapping groups outside of class and have some kickin' maquettes to show to the class on Thursday.  Come be prepared to present your ideas and brainstorm!  We will have a work session after the critique, so bring all the necessary materials for your groups to dig in for the final push on your Mapping projects.  Final critique next week...

Strange and cool mapping sites of the week include Google Maps Mania that features a Zombie hunting game, a map of the world's creepiest places, and Disturbia Suburbia, a map that claims to 'tell you about all the disturbing freaks, loons and frightening nutcases in your neighbourhood'.  And if that isn't enough for you mapping enthusiasts out there, check out Flowing Data, contributed by OAD's own Rich Barlow, a website that offers a visualizations of everything from the location of all Target stores opened since 1962 to a guide to 30 Resources to Find all the Data You Need.  Happy Mapping...
p.s. this week's mystery photo site- creepy or cute?
