Secrets ...and making connections.

Last Thursday was a good day to wander around the MIA to look at work and think about finding connections between artworks in different museum collections for our 'Mining the Museum' assignment. (special thanks to R. Barlow for this one...)
I've already read some good examples of of this on your blogs  and am looking forward to reading the rest and discussing them in the near future.  (If I don't yet have your blog URL you are now officially falling behind!)  Remember to be a part of our online arts dialogue and read and comment thoughtfully on each others' writings, too.
Tomorrow we will check in and briefly discuss this week's chapter on Describing Art (congratulations on some fine examples of descriptive writing in your blogs...) and then we're off to Midway Contemporary Art to view the Secret Life of Objects.  For a sneak preview of the exhibition check out the posting on Contemporary Art Daily  and you might also want to take a look at independent curator Patricia Brigg's musings on MCA and it's exhibitions in Secrets in the City.
p.s. For this week's mystery photo you may need to take a short walk for a place to climb or sit...
