Strategies...

I hope you all enjoyed our trip to Midway Contemporary Art last week. Special thanks to Gallery Director Megan McReade and Gallery Librarian Alice Dodge for their information about  the gallery, the library and the Secret Life of Objects exhibition.  I hope you all took the time to look at the resources Alice located for you in preparation for this week's blog assignment. (And if you need more information, the library is open during gallery hours and you can also visit the MCA library website for the titles and then start googling. Remember, informed writing makes for good blogging.  Help is just a click away...) 

We will be taking a break from our travels this week and discuss the a little more about contemporary art criticism from Describing Art and Interpreting Art (Barrett Ch. 3 and 4) and spend some time on our blog assignments, as well.  Time permitting, we will gather round the projector for a short video about Fred Wilson and his art-making strategies (while Mining the Museum is still fresh in your minds...) and maybe one or two more interesting artists who also employ Postmodern art-making strategies.
